Rouge the bat sculpture 2 by mantti Rouge the bat sculpture 2 by mantti
I wasn´t satisfied with the first Rouge sculpture so I decided to do another one. This is the first time I used super sculpey and I have to say I prefer it more than fimo. Can`t wait to get my hands on Super sculpey firm.
The whole sculpture stands about 25cm (about 10 inches) high the base included. Took me about two weeks to get it to this stage.

I like it, but the head... its, well horrible. I have no idea how sculpting works, but based on your other sculptures, I think you can do better.

I think its the eyes and ears that are the main problem, to big. Or could be the bony look of the head itself.

Also the nose isnt so pointy. And the bra thingy covers more of the body, it goes down to a little more that where her butt is.

Don't think this a flaming comment, I just though I'd place some helpful critizism

Good job besides that though!

Did you bake it in stages, or all at once? How did you smooth the surface?

have you th ought of making garage kits? ^.^

Answer to DarkAldebarans questions: I baked the head, the whole body, wings and the stand separately from each other. I smooth using just a little lighter fuel to get the surface more softer and then use soft good quality brushes, color shapers and ofcourse my own hands to smooth it. Works also without the lighter fuel but when using fuel you have to be careful not to ruin hours of work on the details. After baking I get the final smoothnes using very fine sandpaper and steelwool. Garage kits? I have been thinking about it but I just don't know exactly how to make copies (I pretty much understand the proces after spending some time searching the internet) and also it's pretty expensive what I have heard. Also it's a bit hard to get the proper equipment here in Finland. and I'm not sure if there are many buyers for my sculptures .

I've no idea who Rouge is...forgive my ignorance...doesn't really matter though both your versions of her are ace...particularly the pose of #1.

Personally I find Super Sculpy like trying to work with bubblegum but you seem to have mastered it perfectly...very cool work.

Great! Nice work! Aside with the comments, I do hope you paint it. For details, you should use
finger nail polish with a toothpick. Or paint with needle... but hey! You most likley knew that
practicing work like this, right?
I like this; something I would buy, like, RIGHT now. Though, it's hard to see her irises... hm.
How did you make her stay up-right on the stand? It looks like she's about to slip right off...

Amazing. It almost looks like she has a different expression between the first two pictures. The first picture looks like she is looking at something, almost as if she is saying "What do we have here?" In the second picture, it looks like she is Apologizing, at least to me anyway. You give your scluptures a life of their own, and all the works pays off.

To sum it up, it's beautiful. =)
